Antique American Military Handgun: US Model 1836
In the history of American Military Handguns, the US Model 1836 flintlock pistol was the last US martial flintlock pistol manufactured. Many of those Model 1836 were later converted to percussion. This pistol saw action in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War.

Colt M1903
While the Colt M1911/M1911A1 was widely spread into the US armed forces, OSS agents and many General officiers were carrying the Colt M1903 in .32 ACP has there sidearms. Even if this handgun was secondary, it did make history in World War II as an American Military Handgun.

Beretta 92F M9
The Beretta 92 semi automatic pistol was designed in 1972 and production started in 1975.
In 1985 the Beretta 92F became the official pistol of the US armed forces and was named the M9 and replaced the Colt M1911A1 in all branches of the American Military including the US Army, the Marines, the Navy, the Airforce and the Coast Guard

Colt Single Action Army
The Colt SAA (Single Action Army) was one great american military handgun from 1873 to 1892, this revolver was also carried by many cowboys, sheriffs and bad guys in the Wild West.
Colt New Service
The American Military Handgun Colt New Service was adopted by the US Army, Marines and Navy. This double-action revolver was manufactured by Colt between 1898 and 1946, and was in service in World War I and was still used by the US until the end of World War II.

Colt M1911 / M1911A1
The most common american military handgun is the Colt M1911 and the later variation the M1911A1 that equipped the US armed forces since 1911, and is still carried by some special combat units even if the official sidearm of the United States is now the Beretta 92F. Many shooters still use the M1911 in different variations and calibers.
